This weekend is drawing to an end and I have loved and reveled in being myself and just doing me. I needed it. After a day of cleaning, a day of cooking, and a day of documentaries and eating way too much chocolate it's time to get back on track!
I have been working on my application for Miss Earth USA. That's right! After some long deliberation and research I've decided to compete in "one more" pageant. This one has a wonderful message and I am passionate about this planet. I actually became vegan because of my desire to make a change. Factory farming is in my opinion Top 3 of things that destroy this planet and communities! Even after working on the application all day today I can tell that this pageant, although as low profile as it is, is much different than Miss Washington USA. They're both in the same format but different directions. Both are platforms women can use to make change (although not the only platform!).
After some deep reflection over the past couple of weeks I've decided on how I want to change my diet. You might not know it but I am a drastic changer. I tend to just go for things. I do maybe of week of research decide to it, and learn about the rest as I go. I've decided to follow the teachings of Douglas N. Graham and start building towards 80/10/10. I've chosen to eat breakfast, lunch, and snacks raw fruit and some veggies. I really love warm food, I love it, so I'm letting dinner be open with the goal of getting to a raw dinner. People have opinions on this but it makes sense to me (I'll post later).
Part of this change for my health is spending more time on me and less time on TV and whatever else I do that completely wastes my time and detracts from my goals. Nightly I will be doing scalp and face massages :) I did it last night and not only was it relaxing but even with my oiliest of homemade lotions my skin was clearer than the day before! I hope to also start incorporating nightly stretches and/or yoga before bed.
Tomorrow reality hits and I have a group meeting for biology at 9pm tomorrow (why freshmen why?). I've got homework I've ignored all weekend and I'll address it tomorrow. I've spent all I can over this Black Friday and I'm excited for my sewing supplies and BruceHeart Clothing!
I hope you lovelies had a wonderful holiday and took care of yourselves! What were you grateful for??
